「米通」bowl 1
The "米通" series draws inspiration from the rice bowls of my childhood in Hong Kong. In Chinese, "rice" is represented by the character "米", while "通" signifies transparency or see-through. This concept embodies my personal interpretation of Chinese tradition. It also represents a challenge to master the delicate quality of porcelain craftmanship. This endeavor pushes me to surpass traditional crafting techniques and attain the exquisite delicacy characteristic of fine porcelain. The exterior of each piece is intentionally left unglazed to highlight the porcelain's inherent purity. Meanwhile, the interior with holes is meticulously filled with celadon glaze, not only enhancing its beauty but also ensuring its functionality. This fusion of form and function, tradition and innovation, makes each piece a functional work of art, bridging the past with the present.
