Ng Pottery, established by Diana Ng, represents a distinguished fusion of design and pottery craftsmanship, with its studio situated in the United Kingdom. Diana Ng's journey as a potter commenced in her native Hong Kong, where she received formal tuition under Master Tsui Yun Chung 徐潤中 during her secondary school years. Her pursuit of artistic excellence subsequently led her to the School of Visual Arts in New York City, where she attained a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design before embarking on her design career in Europe.

At the core of Diana Ng's ceramic artistry lies a profound dedication to both the utilitarian and the artistic facets of pottery. Her repertoire encompasses a versatile array of functional pieces, including teapots, cups, bowls, plates, and vases, alongside captivating sculptural creations. Her artistic philosophy reverberates with a celebration of the unpredictability inherent in the creative process, embracing the imperfections that serve as poignant reminders of the human touch embedded within handmade works.

Diana Ng predominantly employs the wheel-throwing technique to craft her exquisite pottery, and the following section offers a glimpse into her meticulous and captivating creative process.

To maintain consistency of size, she weighs the clay she’ll use for each pot.

Wedge the clay to remove air bubbles.

Pad down the wedged clay into a ball for preparation of throwing.

Clay is centred before throwing.

Pull up the clay to create height and thinnen the wall.

Sometimes batts are used for throwing repeated form.

Trim the bottom by turning.

Stamp the maker’s mark on trimmed piece before drying.

Wax the bottoms of bisque wares before glazing.

Glaze bisques with a combination of glazes to create layers of depths.
